Our Partner in Brazil

Every Global Peers subscription supports Associação Beneficente Lar do Caminho, a nonprofit in Juquitiba, São Paulo that has served underprivileged children for over 40 years. Lar do Caminho provides a safe group home and free afterschool programs — soccer, music, art, and more — for children in their community.

Why it matters

When funding runs short, afterschool programs are the first thing cut. Global Peers exists to change that. Net proceeds from every learner subscription go directly to keeping these programs alive, giving kids a safe, enriching place to be after school.

How Our Funding Works

Global Peers is free to join. We're a US nonprofit that pairs teen volunteers with youth learners for weekly English conversation sessions, and we don't charge families a fee. Instead, families who are able are invited to make a voluntary monthly donation directly to our partner in Brazil, Associação Beneficente Lar do Caminho — a certified nonprofit that has run afterschool programs for underprivileged children for over 40 years. Those donations go straight to Lar do Caminho; Global Peers never collects or handles them. Our own operating costs are modest and covered separately by our founders and supporters, so that every contribution a family makes reaches the children it's meant for. Each month we publish the total families donated, so you can see the impact for yourself.
