Effective Date: 06/09/2026 |  globalpeers.org  |  EIN: 41-5067334

Welcome to Global Peers. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Global Peers website and participation in our programs. Global Peers Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. By using our website, signing up as a learner or volunteer, or otherwise participating, you agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

1. About Global Peers

Global Peers connects volunteer teen leaders with youth English learners for weekly 45-minute conversation sessions conducted by video. Families pay a subscription fee for participation, and proceeds, after minimal operating costs, fund afterschool programs for underprivileged children through our nonprofit partner in Brazil.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

Our program is designed for participants between the ages of 12 and 18. Any participant under 18 must have a parent or guardian provide consent before participating. You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it up to date. Providing false identity or age information is grounds for immediate removal.

3. Subscriptions, Payments, and Cancellations

Learner participation requires a paid subscription. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees. The following session policies apply:

·       Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours notice may have the session credit carried forward.

·       Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed without notice, are forfeited with no credit or refund.

·       Subscription fees are otherwise non-refundable except where required by law.

We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.

4. Code of Conduct

All participants must follow our published policies, including the Learner Code of Conduct, Volunteer Code of Conduct, Anti-Harassment Policy, Recording Policy, and No-Contact Exchange Policy. Key expectations include:

·       Treat everyone with respect. Harassment, discrimination, and inappropriate content are prohibited.

·       All communication must occur within scheduled, recorded sessions. Exchanging personal contact information or contacting another participant outside the platform is strictly prohibited.

·       Sessions are recorded for safety. Tampering with or disabling recordings is prohibited.

·       Meeting another participant in person is not permitted.

5. Recording Consent

You acknowledge and agree that all sessions are recorded for safety purposes. Participation constitutes consent to recording by the participant and, for minors, by their parent or guardian. Refusal to be recorded means a participant cannot take part in sessions.

6. Suspension and Removal

We may suspend or permanently remove any participant who violates these Terms or our policies. Certain violations, including any breach of the No-Contact Exchange Policy, zero-tolerance harassment, or tampering with recordings, result in immediate permanent removal without warning. Volunteers are additionally subject to our three-strike system for conduct and attendance, as described in our Removal & Strike Policy.

7. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness any concern, you may report it at any time to report@globalpeers.org. We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and will not penalize anyone for making a good-faith report. See our Reporting & Response Process for details.
